You must love reading to your kids for hours and hours every day!” I’m sorry, I’m also an exhausted human who is currently writing this next to my kid who is zoned out in front of Frozen 2. Especially the fact that those books don’t take very long to read. I would imagine I’m more drawn to gorgeous, complicated illustrations and poetic, lyrical text, but my kids have helped me see the value in the simple books, too. I might not have even picked either one up before having kids. All of which is strange since I hadn’t read either book before this past week. Both are about apples – yes, that’s expected since we’re doing a preschool Apples Unit right now – but they are also both originally published in French and have similar bold, simple, bright art styles. I’ve realized that I’ve put myself into a bit of a box with my first two reviews.
